Glass Moth with Black Velvet backing and Pressed Flowers
This sweet moth is the first of its design and uses 14 hand cut pieces of clear glass, within which you will find black velvet and an array of purples and blues from the garden. Each section of double paned glass has been meticulously designed with tiny bits and pieces of hydrangea, asters, asparagus plant greens, cow parsley, pieces of queen anne’s lace, purple ironweed buds, and so much more. The abdomen is not backed with velvet so the light shines through a little and you can see the details of the ornamental grass, The antennae are curved wire with beads of solder on them, and the edges are stained black and then heavily polished for a shiny/dark bronze appearance. It hangs from a stainless steel chain.
***Please do not hang from a suction cup
***Do not submerge in water
***Flowers fade. I do not color correct. To slow the process, keep out of direct sunlight. Fades MUCH slower away from windows.
